Chris Byrne (he / him)

Christopher Byrne, LGBTQ+ affirmative online counsellor offering therapy for anxiety, identity, and self-esteem

I’m a pluralistic counsellor, which means I believe that different people need different things at different times. Drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches, I work collaboratively to tailor the counselling process to what works best for you. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all—together, we can refine and build upon what is already working in your life, while also creating space for deeper exploration and growth.

With two years at Andover Mind and my own lived experience as a gay man, I have supported people through a wide range of emotional, mental, and psychological challenges. I also have experience working with neurodivergent adults, offering support that honours diverse ways of thinking, processing, and being.

I strongly believe that therapy can happen anywhere, not just in a formal setting, but in conversation, reflection, and everyday moments. My approach is compassionate, non-judgmental, and adaptable, ensuring that your experience is truly personal and meaningful.

I offer online counselling, providing a flexible and accessible space for you to engage in therapy from the comfort of your own surroundings. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationships, self-acceptance, or life transitions, I provide a safe, affirming space where you can explore and grow at your own pace. Sessions are collaborative, meaning we work together to discover the most helpful ways forward—whether that’s through structured techniques or a more open, exploratory approach. I think the best therapy is collaborative.

I see my role as a pluralistic counsellor as being not to impose a rigid framework but to walk alongside you, offering guidance and support as you move toward greater clarity, balance, and well-being. Honouring your path, refining what works, and embracing the journey—together.
